STRIPPERS, PORN STARS & THE GOLDEN HYPOCRISY OF HOLLYWOOD ACTORS

A thought occurred to me while channel surfing and briefly seeing a stripper on a popular but disreputable TV show.  Someone on the show was trying to convince the stripper to give up her ways.  I don’t see the alleged morality involved in coercing a young woman to give up stripping for something more ‘decent’ or ‘ethical’.  The usual argument is that it is supposedly degrading and there are dangers involved in such an occupation.

But I wonder.  Isn’t there always a danger involved in anything one chooses to do as an occupation?

By the Law of Polarity, there is always some advantages and disadvantages involved in doing anything at all.  There is the tired old cliché about walking under a piano being hoisted up a high rise apartment only to be crushed during a performance of Cacophony in C Minor by composer I. C. Irony.  The moral of this story?  Don’t walk down the street or you might die.

And the logic of quitting stripping?  Some say it is dangerous.  The usual argument is that the stripper might attract the unwanted attention of some mentally disturbed man who might become a secret admirer (read ‘stalker’).

I wonder…where is the logic in becoming a famous Hollywood actress?  My argument is that the actress might attract the unwanted attention of some mentally disturbed man who might become a secret admirer (read ‘stalker’).

The possible negative outcome of each scenario of each is precisely the same.

So…whence cometh the strength of thy argument?

Given the right perspective, are not both the professions of stripping and acting equally dangerous?  In fact aren’t both of these professions literally supported by selling fantasies?

Therefore,…can anyone tell me why in the goddamned hell acting is so much more respectable than stripping?  Both women are (to be brutally blunt) whoring themselves.  So why all the fuss?

Or how about this—instead of a stripper we use an Adult Film starlet in the same argument.  (that’s a porno actress for you old schoolers.)  Isn’t the situation identical in all respects?  I have to ask…What is the main difference between the respected Hollywood actress and the disrespected Porn star?  The answer is sex.  Real sex to be specific.

If anything, I can respect the porn stars of the world because they are not acting when they have sex.  They are not in the business of pulling the wool over the viewer’s eyes.  They are really engaging in a sex act.

Isn’t the idea of a Hollywood star doing his/her own stunts identical in essence to a Porn star doing his/her own sexual ‘stunts’?  So why do Hollywood stars shirk away from literally having sex with each other?  Hollywood praises actors and actresses who do their own physical stunts, so why not praise them for actually having sex?  Why the hypocrisy?  And furthermore, why is it that as soon as an actor or actress decides to engage in real intercourse during a love scene they are forever blacklisted, shunned or otherwise despised to the point that they cannot get work in legitimate films?

Why do we celebrate the Hollywood star for their fakery, illusions and lies to the point of giving them golden statues…but all the while debasing and condemning the Porn star for their honest, no holds barred truthful performance?

Given the above hypocrisy-exposing facts, let all truthloving people honor the Porn stars everywhere, not for helping their audience to bust a nut, but for the honesty and sincerity present in their work.
