STUMBLING LIKE A DRUNK BACK TO DIVINITY
Finding one’s way back to God is like walking down a long dark corridor or hallway. You only know that one direction is the way but to find it you have to bump into either wall, left and right, repeatedly again and again bumping into each wall. This can be likened to making a mistake in either direction concerning some free will choice during life. The idea is to try to lessen the frequency of bumping into either wall as one walks steadily along. The time between bumps becomes longer and longer. Then one day it seems that one can no longer remember the last time one bumped into a wall (making a mistake) and then one is flying straight on the path right to the bull’s eye target of God. Then one is on the True ‘straight and narrow’. Then one is truly passing thru the eye of a needle, indicating the tiny window of opportunity one has to find thru trail and error in order to arrive at the final destination of communion with God.
