According to the Law of Polarity, all things that we think are opposite are really just two opposing poles of the same thing, which means they are both ‘composed’ of the same thing.

With that in mind, I once came up thought up the idea that if sex is pleasurable, then by Polarity it is also painful.  This most certainly would explain the weird faces humans make during intercourse.  Maybe we are suffering from complete insanity caused by our failed attempt to integrate the opposites, much less simultaneously comprehend both extremes, and our faces show it during the act of love.

During orgasm, we experience the unity of the opposites within ourselves, but only for a short time.  The belief that we can Truly join on the physical level causes us to start touching which causes delusive pleasure, and all the while this activity simultaneously causes frustration that the desired union cannot truly take place, which results in pain.  The more we attempt to unite what cannot be united from our point of perception, the more we can get closer to that desired point of perception while still in the physical body.  The closer we get to a True perception of the Polarity-experienced-as-One, the more we feel the joy of Divine Bliss.  Yet while still in the physical body, the full experience of this state of consciousness still seems impossible.  Nevertheless we briefly experience a glimpse of this during the sex act, and we refer to this experience of One-ness as orgasm.

Maybe the reason we feel pain stems from the fact that we are trying to combine what cannot truly be combined, trying to become one thing on the physical plane, and it is just not possible…so we feel pain during the pleasure of intercourse.

Maybe the reason we feel pleasure results from the delusion that we could truly combine on the physical, from thinking that we are face to face with the aim, the goal of perfect unity with the other.  Or maybe the pleasure results from the union on the subtler levels, such as the astral (emotional) and mental (intellectual, mind) planes of existence.

Maybe we invite people to hurt us so we can feel a simultaneous pleasure as well.  Maybe a woman invites the man to hurt her so she can feel the pleasure of uniting with his Divine Energy (or in the case of selfish woman who just steals it from him).

From one perspective, sex seems like nothing more than a voluntarily engaged, mutual violation that occurs on every level.  While that sounds horrible, isn’t it exactly what is needed to help us to unite with others?  To allow others into our consciousness, hearts, minds?  Isn’t this activity necessary to break down the barriers that imprison our selves in suffering?

Life is weird, to say the least.
