Perhaps becoming enlightened means that you get so close to the Truth of what God is, that you can transmit it through yourself before the actual event of Death and/or Enlightenment occurs.  It seems that the closer you get to the Truth the harder it is to even describe it.  Sometimes those glimpses of truth are so overwhelming and incomprehensible that  you wonder if what you are actually experiencing is as it truly is.

One of the strange things that happen as you get closer to enlightenment is that you become less aware that you really exist at all (the ego principle).  You will feel a kind of calmness and supreme peace of mind that is difficult to make others understand.  They are always puzzled as to why you don’t react to life the way everyone else does, why you are so tolerant, why you appear so seemingly passive, why so downright uninterested in the things that excite or irritate others.

The closer one gets to God, the more one sees that All is One, and that there isn’t much use getting overly excited about anything at all, no matter how good or evil others perceive it.  They cannot understand a state of being that sees both sides of any event so clearly that it causes little or no reaction on the part of the viewer.  All most folks ever see is one side or the other, and they let such divisions throw their lives around hither and thither.

Generally speaking, the only thing that will ever prompt a person of God to action is some activity that will help benefit others to reach a state of such centeredness and neutrality, that calmness that can only come from realizing the Truth of the supposed divisions of creation—that they don’t really exist and there is not much sense in getting too worked up over it.

The more you acknowledge that you cannot truly change the Universe, accepting that all you really can do is to work at neutralizing the polarizing effects of the perceived changes on yourself and then try to transmit the technique and secrets of how to do this to others, then the closer to enlightenment and liberation you will be.
