IN PRAISE OF FOOLISH BEHAVIOR, or BE A FOOL FOR GOD’S SAKE!
The Soul cannot be held prisoner by things it recognizes, specifically the tricks of the Ego. If the Soul is allowed to rule for even a short time, the observer can witness that this Higher part of One’s Self is most able to provide all that is needed in the way of making the Ego work for the human being in question (instead of the human working for the Ego).
Surrendering to the Higher Self allots one a fruitful life filled with prosperity and peace of mind. The Ego would have one believe that his/her Source came from the outside, i.e., the Ego. But it does this in subtle, clever ways, but in no way foolproof. And an interesting word choice that is—foolproof. It is interesting because only one who acts in ways denounced as foolish by one’s external society is in a position to obtain the help of the Higher Self which shines a light on the Ego’s illusionary tricks.
Society puts forth the opinion that only a fool would forsake a full life living exactly as everyone else does. But the fool is wise indeed, for only in forsaking that life can he obtain the truth of the Ego’s illusionary web of deceit. But he doesn’t condemn the Ego. Instead, he observes its ways passively, so much so that it borders next to ignoring it, even starving it into submission. And once his Ego is dead, then the light of knowledge and wisdom will shine from the Higher Self.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can do nothing against it.”
