THE SOUL IS A MIRROR FOR THE LIGHT OF DIVINITY
It is said that the enlightened are like the mirrors for the rest of us who are not enlightened. Adepts are empty. This means that their souls have little or no ego within them left to ruin the clear mirror of their soul which reflects the light of God. Their soul itself is a Void or emptiness which can channel the pure essence of God.
It is said that when, after much spiritual effort, the aspirant arrives at that point in his spiritual evolution when he looks into the Void or Abyss, what he sees is his reflection staring back at him. Any little bit of egotistical trash in his soul is reflected back to him. In the same manner does an Adept or Yogi reflect back to his students all of their own problems. Nothing gets past an enlightened human being. The student cannot fool the Teacher because the teacher has no Ego left to react to the student’s foolishness. When a student looks at his Teacher, all he sees is himself, the reflection of his own soul with all of its problems. In this way can the Teacher demonstrate “the Path” to the student by example of his own life, even by the act of just being there.
God is Love. God is Light. As the wiccan/witchcraft author Phyllis Curott wrote in her book, “Love is what Light feels like.” When you experience Love in your Soul, you are literally channeling Light thru your Soul. And you are also experiencing God within yourself. To experience this light & love of God one must empty oneself of all egocentricity. One must forget about oneself and begin to care for others instead of selfishly thinking only of oneself. Seen from one perspective, the process of becoming enlightened harkens back to what the word itself means. One must literally let the light of God shine forth from one’s soul. The only thing that gets in the way of this happening is the ego. Only it gets in the way of the soul’s enlightenment by utilizing all manner of fear and selfishness.
If I didn’t know any better, I would say that God wants us to live a rich full life of giving of ourselves, especially (though not only) to those who will receive us, or else transcend the need to live altogether and literally give your entire self to the world upon reaching enlightenment, which is death, at which point the soul has a choice to stay & work for others, or else leave and permanently go back unto God.
