If you reconnect to the Source you are reconnecting to the field of intention (will).  With it anything is possible.  Life itself becomes a miracle.  Miracles begin to happen around you, because of you.  But if you can maintain an enlightened attitude in which you do not even care about causing such miracles, then you are liberated even while you are here.  This is another perspective on the phrase “Be here now”.

Connect to the Source while being here, and be neutral, in a state of bliss while here and you will soon be enlightened and liberated.  Self realization means reconnection to the source of our Selves.  Once connected to this Source, nothing can Truly go wrong in your life.  Despite what might happen, you will know that it is all simply the way it is supposed to happen, and all is as it should be.

All of our problems arise from a disconnection from Source.  They arise because of our erroneous perspectives which tell us that “something is wrong” when in fact the only thing that is wrong is the way we look at things and interpret them.  This again, is attachment to what one observes.  An attachment is what causes a rupture of sorts within our minds and makes us think that there is something wrong with what we are observing.  If we reestablish a firm connection to the Source, then all problems in our lives cease because we see that everything is happening according to a perfect plan.

How powerful is this state of Enlightenment, of Divine Neutrality?  There is a documented story of a yogi named Lahiri who reportedly didn’t even bat an eyelid when his own daughter died within his house only a few feet from him.  He remained in a state of absolute neutrality and bliss even as this event was perceived as a tragedy by the other members of his family.  He had attained such a state of enlightenment and liberation that he was not even attached to his own progeny.  He just sat there calmly listening to one of his yoga students attempting to read passages from the Hindu holy scripture, the Bhagavad Gita, while all the commotion was happening near them.

When you lose connection to Source, you are in resistance to the Source, which will then cause problems in your life.  When you forget that connection to Source and lose the mode of neutrality, then your mind and emotions will start to have opinions and reactions to what is going on around you.  You start to resist things, which is itself a form of attachment.  One cannot be liberated from something if one is resisting it.  The very act of resistance is an action in the direction of whatever it is you are resisting.  One must remember the concept of neutrality, and just let things be.

Now this Neutrality does not mean that one should sit on his ass and do nothing for remainder of life.  That is not correct.  The idea here is to Be Here Now, where you are, wherever you happen to be, and do your work or dharma at that place with no expectation of a reward for your labors.  It is useless to worry about things going on 10000 miles away from oneself if there is literally nothing one can do about it.  One must take care of what needs to be done here ‘at home’ first and foremost.  The underlying idea here is a firm conviction, far and beyond mere belief, that you are right where the Source (God) needs you to be, and doing what needs to be done at any given moment in life.

And what if there is a problem somewhere other than where you are?  A problem you are sure you could remedy, if only you were there?  First of all, do not make the mistake of worrying about this problem.  You cannot worry someone’s problems away, no matter if that person is near or far.  Faith is needed on your part, faith that God is taking care of all tasks that need to be done thru those people who are most able to handle the work, wherever the problem may occur.  And if you are nowhere near such a situation?  Then you must realize that you are not the person most able to handle the problem, or that there is something much more important for you to take care of in another place.  Therefore you must stick to your dharma wherever you are, and remain in a state of neutrality concerning distant problems, since it is obviously not your task to take are of.  One must not fall into a messiah complex, always thinking that it is your duty to solve all the world’s problems yourself.  That is not only unnecessary, but impossible.  Stick to where you are and apply yourself to whatever task comes your way, always in a state of neutrality concerning what you are doing here and now and what you are unable to do somewhere else.  Don’t be there now.  Be here now.

The obstacles that keep you disconnected are the following.

First, Don’t look for opportunities and occasions to be offended or belittled or upset in any way.  Be of good humor.  In Neutrality, you cannot be offended or belittled or upset, etc.  If you are looking for things to upset you, then the ego is in control and is seeking to keep you disconnected from the Source within.  Notice how you must look outside yourself to find something to bother you?  This is a trick of the ego in that it keeps you looking everywhere but inside for what you need.  There is an old saying from the east that states that god was looking for a place to hide from humanity because of their ceaseless demands and prayers.  The devil came along and gave god a suggestion as to where to hide, somewhere that no human would ever look.  He told god, “Hide right behind their eyes.  They will never look there”.  If you are looking outside of yourself to find fulfillment or annoyance, then you have already lost and will never find what you are looking for in such a manner.

Second, be aware of the energy of your life.  Don’t expose yourself to negative energies, in any shape or form.  Look at the energy of your life and be careful what energy you surround yourself with, what people you surround yourself with, the music you listen to, the television shows you watch, what you do with your idle time, etc.  Change the energy of your life and change your life itself.  Anger, resentment and hatred are low energies that weaken you, so limit your exposure to such vibrations.  If you spend time being around angry people, don’t be surprised if you turn out angry yourself.  Energy is contagious.  We all affect one another, whether we are aware of it or not.  If you listen to unpleasant music, you may become unpleasant yourself.  If you watch violent television shows, you may become violent yourself in time.  Be wary of what energy you expose yourself to, as it will have an effect on you.

Third, the source reacts according to what you believe.  If you believe there are shortages in your life, you will have them.  If you think you are unhappy, unloved, etc., then you will have exactly that.  The source only knows how to BE.  As far as what it will be, well that is up to you.  See yourself as already having that which you want to attract into your life.  See yourself from the end, think from the end, as in where or what you wish to be.  In the practice of magick and witchcraft, etc., the same principle applies.  In order for a spell to work, one must imagine the end result.  It has also been said that “As a man thinketh, so he is”.  St. Ignatius of Loyola used to say, “make as if” in regards to changing one’s life.  Do not think of what is missing or what always has been because that mode of thinking is what will keep you exactly that way.  Think of what you wish to be instead.  Then miracles will occur.  Be in harmony with source, as it knows nothing of what is missing in my life unless you tell it so, then it makes it so, because that is what you believe.   The difference between most people and Self actualizing people is that the latter must be what they can be.  This harkens back to the concepts of dharma again, and doing what you are meant to do.  In magickal circles, this is referred to as the True Will.  It is your free will united to the will of god within you.  When you attain this True Will, life becomes a breeze.  You are always doing what you should be doing.  Everything you need flows into your life, as if by “magick” because in fact, that is what it truly is—magick.

THE FACE OF CREATIVITY

July 27th, 2009

In Eastern philosophy there is a principle that states that god is always creating anew at every moment.  God creates, period.  Nothing is stationary.  Nothing is static or still, ever.  This constant action of creation is sometimes referred to as the “Dance of Shiva”, Shiva being another name for god in the Hindu pantheon.  The Source is always creating.  And being connected to the Source, so should we also be creating as well.

Perhaps the best way to live a meaningful life is to create.  Create anything, just create.  Adopt the perspective of consumers and producers.  Consumers never contribute anything to the world.  Producers are always contributing something of themselves.  Producers are creators.  They are living their lives ‘on purpose’.  Their polarity has shifted from what they can attract to themselves to what can they give to the world.

Producers are always working on some project or another.  A producer finds inspiration in their own dharma, the work they are meant to do.  The best producers do not even care about rewards.  They are too busy creating to worry about what will come back to them.  These kinds of people are truly inspired.  When deeply inspired by a project, the mind thinks in new directions never before dreamed.  All limiting thoughts have their bonds broken.  The imagination expands outward, and dormant forces and talents come online and you discover yourself to be greater than you ever thought you could be.  This is the magick of creation and of creating itself.  In the East, it is said that God is in a state of constant Joy because it is a Joy to create, just as it is a Joy for a married couple to attempt to create a child.  When we are ‘married’ to our creative projects, we are also in a similar state of Joy.  In the face of such inner happiness, the idea of being a consumer simply doesn’t compare.

When you are busy creating, everything is working in your life.  You are connected to the source within, and while there may be difficulties and obstacles to overcome, rest assured there will be no mistakes.  The only thing you can really do with your life, to make it meaningful, is to give it away—suspend your ego and be of service to humanity.  Don’t die with your ‘music’ still in you.  Your thoughts about your purpose are your purpose trying to connect to you.  Pay attention to your thoughts and follow thru with them.  The source is always creating.  The source is always trying to create thru you.  Find your dharma by finding what inspires you and makes you want to move.  True nobility is being more and better than who and what you used to be.

Make your life meaningful—create.

THE FACE OF KINDNESS

July 27th, 2009

Be at peace with everyone in life, even enemies and annoying relatives.  Be kindness itself.  Seen from the highest perspective, there is no reason to treat anyone with anything other than kindness.  This harkens back to the concept of Divine Neutrality.  When you are neutral to everyone you meet in life, there are no labels attached to that person.  If you are neutral, you cannot be busy putting people you meet into neat little categories for future reference.  What can it profit that person or yourself to treat them other than with an initial feeling of neutrality, a blank slate upon which that person can show you their true character.

Now do not make the mistake that you should treat a person who proves to be dangerous with no regard for your own life.  This is not neutrality.  God has given you life and you should at least respect that god has put you here for a reason and not squander away that life with stupid actions on your part.  Such a thing would be a slap in the face of the Source that has put you here in the first place.  Contrary to popular belief, there is no spiritual law that dictates that we should literally sacrifice our lives for anyone else on any given day.  Such is the romantic nonsense of misguided religious understanding of deep spiritual truths.

Remember that we are dealing with a mode of initial neutrality here.  Common sense dictates that we should be wary of those who show themselves to be dangerous and not to forget your basic intelligence by giving them any chance to slip into their own destructive behavior.  If you approach someone with neutrality and they then proceed to demonstrate their own dangerous tendencies, then since you have the intelligence to recognize their faults, it is necessary and noble on your part to make sure that your own actions give them no avenue to further indulge in their negative behavior.  Is it not wrong to allow that person to harm you, thereby creating negative karma for themselves?  What good have you done for either one of you?  Think about it.

In life, everyone you meet is trying to find their own happiness.  Do you think that you can help that person by instantly applying a label to them as soon as you meet?  This is the ego doing your thinking for you.  When you approach new people and even new situations with neutrality, then it opens up endless possibilities to you since you are not busy putting mental restrictions to what is in front of you.

Being kind is an action whose vibration spreads outward, even to others nearby.  Remember, energy is contagious.  It has been demonstrated that everyone who receives an act of kindness gets a dose of serotonin (a naturally occurring “feel good” chemical) and anyone who provides the kindness also gets the same dose as well.  And the third party observer of the act also gets a dose as well.

When you judge, it turns you into someone who has to judge and put labels on people.  When you label someone, it negates them.  Stop labeling everyone and everything upon initial meeting.

You might be surprised at what results from such a mental attitude.

THE FACE OF LOVE

July 27th, 2009

Respect yourself at all times, love yourself.  Trust yourself.  Then you are trusting the same source that created you.  When you fail to love yourself, you are denying your own divinity and are attracting the opposite of what you are.  Establish the harmony of conscious contact with Divinity within, the Source, God.  When you do this, all you feel is Love.  Love for yourself and others as well.  When you establish such a contact with Source, you feel as if you have become Love itself.

Many people profess to love, but few really know what that even is.  You can’t give away what you don’t have for yourself already.  If you would love others, first love yourself and know that you are loved by God.  Then you will be in a position to love others too.  Then you will be able also to learn what you dharma is and follow it with Joy.  Doing your dharma is love in action.  Being in a state of harmony with Source within, you realize that “I am whole, I am perfect as I was created”.  You see that you came from a source that has a great idea of who and what you should be.  You must be in a state of love to find out what that is.  Connect to god within, and be love itself.  All else in life will flow as easily as water in a river.  When you are in harmony, the right things will happen at the right time.  Carl Jung called this synchronicity, meaningful coincidences.  Being in a state of love allows such synchronicities to happen because you are not busy trying to find a perspective or label in interpret anyone or anything.  You are open as the sky.  And anything can happen when in this state of mind.

THE FACE OF BEAUTY

July 27th, 2009

When we recognize beauty, we perceive god in one of its forms.  Every beauty seen here below on earth by people of perception resembles more than anything else that source from which we all come.  There is a mostly unknown story of Jesus and his disciples coming across a dead dog rotting in the open air.  All the disciples were disgusted for obvious reasons.  But Jesus approached the dog and remarked with total amazement at the dog’s teeth, mentioning how fine they were.  Can you see beauty in a dead dog as Jesus did?  A similar story from Zen philosophy has a student asking his teacher, “What is holy?”  The teacher responded, “A mountain of shit on a silver plate.”  The idea here is that if you look hard enough and with great attention, you can find beauty everywhere.  It is said in occult circles that god has made no unclean thing.  It is even said by those mystics who have examined such, that the king of hell is beautiful as well, in his cold, icy perfection of purpose.

The poet Keats said, “Beauty is Truth, truth beauty.  That is all you know on earth and all you need to know.”    When you are in a state of love, you are in harmony with that which created all of the universe, and you are able to see for yourself the beauty of it all.  All around you is a creation singing glory to the god that created all things.

Rumi said, “Sell your cleverness and be in a state of bewilderment.”  Said another way—suspend your ego’s attempts to selfishly declare its own greatness and instead be in a receptive state to the harmony, joy and love found by establishing harmonious connection to the god source within.  You will then be able to see beauty everywhere.

THE FACE OF EXPANSIVENESS.

July 27th, 2009

When you are in a state of pushing out of yourself, of expanding yourself, you have no choice but to express the true genius that you are within.  Align yourself with the source within and then give forth of yourself.  Let your own inner genius lead you to your dharma, which is your life’s work, which is joyous.  Look for the genius in others and remind them of it.  Often people cannot see their own inner strengths.  If you recognize the genius in others, encourage it.  It inspires them.  This will have the effect of turning them inside out, and expressing their own selves the same way you are also doing.  This is the polarity of a god-attuned person, pushing out of themselves, trying to make a heaven out of the hell that is earth.

Don’t let the process of living day to day “de-genius” you.  Don’t let the mundane activities of your daily life sap all of your resources and creativity.  Make time for the mundane, and then no more.

Learn to see yourself the same way your source sees you, as a genius waiting to expand itself outward for the benefit of all.  Genius does not mean intelligent.  It means being open-minded enough to be able to receive from the source those ideas and projects that others call genius, only because they are not aligned with source and doing it themselves.  Having much knowledge is not so important.  “Imagination is more important than knowledge”—Einstein.

All true genius has radical humility, and in the presence of such humility, ego has no chance.  If you are humble before god, you receive from god, and are able to expand outward and give forth of yourself.  If ego is in control, you are not humble but self-important and therefore think you are an island unto yourself and are unable to humbly receive from the source those ideas and projects that will truly fulfill your life and make others’ lives a little easier.

Take the path of least resistance and connect to source, so you have no resistance to your own dharma, which source will guide you to quickly and magickally.  Think of others instead of always of yourself.

THE FACE OF ABUNDANCE

July 27th, 2009

The source reacts to your belief in shortage or abundance according to what you believe.  Approach the source not with what is missing, but with a state of gratitude for what you have.  Believe beyond ordinary belief that Source can and will bring abundance into your life when you have a need of it.  The difference between a selfish person and a selfless person is thus.  The selfish person is always trying to force the source to give it what he/she truly does not need, but only wants.  The selfless person has absolute faith that the source will provide to him/her exactly what he/she needs to follow the ideas or projects that his/her dharma dictates.

Abundance is a spiritual law that never fails.  It operates in a manner similar to someone who is always trying to empty their glass for other to drink while god is busy keeping that glass full the whole time everyone else is drinking.  And as for yourself?  Well since you are the holder of the glass that is never empty, neither are you ever thirsty.  How can you ever be thirsty with a glass that is never empty, but always full?  This is the law of Abundance in action.

When you connect to source and follow your inner guidance to your dharma and then actually set out to do the work you are meant to do, miracles occur in conjunction with this.  People appear out of nowhere.  Materials needed manifest with apparently no effort on your part to make it happen.  This is Abundance in action.  This is how it operates.  You do your half of the work, and god steps in to fill in the other half while you are busy with what is in front of you, causing miracles to occur “behind your back”, as it were.  When you make god your co-partner, god provides everything you need.  This requires faith on your part, but if you do it…you will see it works.  Every single time you do it.

THE FACE OF RECEPTIVITY.

July 26th, 2009

When you connect to the inner source, a fundamental change occurs in your character.  Due to the fact that you are busy projecting yourself and your work “out there” then by spiritual law god is busy providing your needs “in here”.  Naturally, there occurs an automatic state of receptivity on your part, an openness to gracefully accepting what god gives you to do your dharma.

What god gives you depends on what it is you are trying to accomplish.  You may receive certain people who are ideal for your project.  It is easy to bring the right people in your life.  Just decide to do what you are inspired to do for the benefit of all, and the right people will show up.  Be receptive to these very people with a state of neutrality, achieve a mutual energy exchange and see why it is you have met this person or persons.  They just might be who you needed or were waiting for.  This open and receptive attitude creates allies, not enemies.  If you wish to attract someone kind, be kind.  If you wish to attract someone adventurous, be adventurous.  Gandhi once said, “We must be the change we wish to see.”  Be the kind of person you wish to attract.  Act as if those people are already here by being that way now.  Then everyone you need (not to mention everything you need) will just magickally show up.

HALF ASSED SUMMATION

July 26th, 2009

Do not fall into the trap of thinking you are not important in this world.  You are very important indeed.  Your very presence here is evidence of such.  “You affect others by your presence”, said Walt Whitman.  What kind of effect you are having depends on the degree of connection to the source within yourself.  I would put forth the notion that you affect the whole world by your presence.

All it takes is one person to change the world.  One person with a dream, who follows it come what may.  Such a person is always remembered for their subsequent actions, whether said actions be for the common good or cause unwarranted destruction.  Even evil tyrants were just following their dreams.  But we remember them as easily as the saints and miracle-workers who have lived and changed the world by following their own visions.

If you connect yourself to the source within, and follow your dharma, your inspirations, for the benefit of all…can you even imagine what you can do for the world?  How will the world remember you?
